JFK ASSASSINATION RECORDINGS

The assassination of John F. Kennedy, the thirty-fifth President of the United States, took place 43 years ago this month in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was fatally wounded by gunshots while riding with his wife in a presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza. He was the fourth U.S. President to be assassinated and the eighth to die while in office.

LADY BIRD JOHNSON & DON HEWITT
From the archives of the Lyndon Johnson Presidential Library, hear from Lady Bird Johnson. Her husband, Vice President Lyndon Johnson, was sworn into office aboard Air Force One at Love Field in Dallas, becoming the thirty-sixth President of the United States. And from the oral history collection of the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, we'll hear from Don Hewitt. Best known as the creator of 60 Minutes, he was the executive producer of the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite and was one of the producers coordinating CBS coverage of the assassination.
